This 19,000 SF state-of-the-art facility is equipped with many distinct features, including "DC style" folding bay doors, a fire pole and slide, a training tower along with a separate bay for display of the department's historic engine and memorabilia of the department's 42 year history.

Dale City VFD was designed as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) project and features a number of "green" technologies including a rain water collection system for irrigation, a green roof system, and the extensive use of energy efficient materials and building systems. The project was planned to achieve silver certification under LEED NC 2.2. Through the efforts of Jack Bays, Inc. in achieving higher percentages in Recycled Content, Regional Materials and exemplary performance points in Construction Waste Management the project received gold certification. Throughout the entire process, careful documentation was utilized to verify compliance and help the project exceed the original goals.
